Wow! My Mom sent me a few packs of the new Webkinz Trading Cards Series 2. I opened the packs and found that I was a very lucky recipient of a free mystery pet. The exciting (and scary) part is that I had to name the pet without knowing what the pet was! I happen to love this, but I can see how overwhelming it might be. I heard of a Pink Pony that got named Brutus, much to his owner’s dismay. I think it’s absolutely adorable, but I wanted a name that could go for any pet. Talk about hard!

I wanted a name that meant “Mystery” or “Secret” or “Hidden”, yet was unisex, too. I’ve narrowed my choices to “Rune” and “Mystery”, after days of contemplation. I finally decided on Rune , since I heard it (or read it) in about a dozen unexpected locations today. I took that as a sign, since I rarely hear that word in my regular day-to-day living.

I’m very happy with my new pet and completely surprised by her being a Dalmatian. My original guess was that it was going to be either a Pink Poodle or a Cheeky Dog, but I was determined to be happy with any pet I received. I am. She’s great! I love that she ended up being a pet that I never would have gotten on my own.
