Eat MORE Carbs, Not Less — Dispelling a Deadly Dietary Myth
Eeks! The South Beach Diet and the Atkins Diet are still popular! I can hardly believe it, but every time I am out in a public location where food is being served, I still hear about the dangers of carbohydrates (menus even cater to this fear). Scarily, I’ve even heard people lately say that having high cholesterol is actually good for health! This is one of the worst myths that I’ve heard in a long time.
The Myth: Carbohydrates make people fat.
The Fact: Carbohydrates are the best foods that humans can put into their bodies. They do not cause obesity. It just isn’t physically possible. It is the processing of carbohydrates and the toppings that are commonly put on them that cause weight gain and poor nutrition.
