Riddles for Our Triwizard Tournament Tasks
This is the final post regarding our Harry Potter Triwizard Tournament.
My daughter made riddles for two different tasks. Here they are:
For Task 1 (the Champions had to pass a mysterious “monster” who made them correctly guess who he was before they could pass):
In the Forbidden Forest I hide, I have many legs and many eyes.
- Acromantula, Giant spider, or Aragog
Throw me a cucumber if you will, or bow to me for my head to spill.
- Kappa
Making potions-we know that, and wearing Neville’s Grandmother’s hat.
- Professor Snape
I’m only a creature at the full moon, you’d better get away from me soon!
- Werewolf
For Task 3 (the Champions had to pass a Sphinx who made them correctly guess the answer to a desert related riddle before they could pass):
A sea reptile with a very hard shell, land or water? It’s hard to tell.
- Turtle or sea turtle
You’ll find me near a coral reef, where you can pick my big leaf.
- Palm tree
It has ribs and arms like you and me, but it does not have eyes to see.
- Saguaro
A prickly plant where water’s hot, it’s name says it will hold a lot.
- Barrel cactus
I rhyme with echo-you’re a wizard, I rhyme with echo-I’m a lizard.
- Gecko
My name is green stick and I speak Espanol, I’m a desert legume-according to the poll.
- Palo verde
