Have your say: Dietary Guidelines for Americans 2010
Development of the HHS’s and the USDA’s new Dietary Guidelines for Americans is underway for a release of 2010. These guidelines are reissued every 5 years. Since many of us health conscious people are disappointed in the 2005 (current) guidelines, we should be thrilled that they are allowing comments from the public at large (as well as their special committee).
Do you have an opinion regarding the current guidelines, food pyramid, or anything else regarding this process? Formulate what you’d like to say and write in today! Not sure what you want to say yet? Spend some time reading what others have already said. I’m thrilled that Dr. McDougall and Dr. Barnard (with the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine) are both having their say!
In the meantime, if you are looking for fantastic dietary guidelines and information that truly is healthy, check out: PCRM’s “The New Four Food Groups” or Choose Veg’s Pyramid or The Vegan Food Pyramid. Or better yet, spend all day reading on the PCRM site and the McDougall site!
