Movies and Television Shows
Television Shows on DVD have become our absolute favorite entertainment source. Shows on DVD are amazing --- no worries about commercials. It is like having a really great movie that just goes on and on. In our eclectic viewing environment, we pause movies and shows very frequently. It can often take our family all night to watch a 90 minute movie. We love this educational and fun experience that we share with our children.
These aren't televison shows that are marketed toward children. As Unschoolers we watch most shows together as a family. We love this time together. We watch the shows that we are interested in and that our children are interested in despite the recommended age retrictions. Kids and adults know what they like and what they can handle. G doesn't always cut it in our house; some G rated movies are downright scary. On the other hand, we've found some PG-13 movies to be the most family friendly movies imaginable.
