This is a rather emotional topic for most people. It is one that is not popular to discuss in polite conversation, although it is rarely mentioned as such unlike how politics and religion are. Figuring out personal and business finances is a long and neverending road. However, there is help available, and it doesn't have to be painful and boring! First and foremost, look into your own heart and determine your own personal goals and desires. Once you have established YOUR goals (not your neighbor's goals, nor your best friend's goals, nor your parent's goals, nor your financial advisor's goals) the road to financial freedom becomes better lit.
With all things in life, learning interdependency is important. We can all reach our highest aspirations in the easiest and most fulfilling way if we work together. There is a fine line between this interdependency and plain old dependency. Dependency is not a good thing. It is important to be knowledgable and to know what you are getting yourself into at all times. Don't depend on the knowledge of others to carry you the full distance. That way of thinking often leads to either a big crash or many disappointing experiences. Know what you know and be ready to admit when you need help. We don't need to go it alone, but we don't want to drag others down.
