Seek Out Interesting Places to Visit

With vacation season approaching us, I want to talk about trips. My family and I really enjoy seeing “offbeat” locations (although we highly enjoy the luxury of our children not going to school, so we can visit them in “off seasons”). Check out RoadSideAmerica for roadside attractions in your area, where you’ll be on your [...]

Madera Canyon, Green Valley, Arizona, USA

We recently revisited Madera Canyon. Some of my photographs from last fall are in the post “Madera Canyon”. Here are some new pictures from a few days ago. The two girls are my daughters, the adults are my parents. “Canyon”, my older daughter’s new Webkinz Bengal Tiger, joined in on our fun.

Queen Mine Tour, Bisbee, Arizona, USA

My daughters have been extremely interested in caves and mines lately, so we’ve been touring as many as we can find. This is an important part of Unschooling that is often misunderstood. Picacho Peak and Ostrich Farm

My younger daughter and I joined our local Unschooling group for a really fun day at Picacho Peak at the end of January. We first went to the Rooster Cogburn Ostrich Ranch, then we picnicked at Picacho Peak State Park. Here are some photographs of the experience.

Comfortable Vegan Shoes

Hands down, our favorite shoes are Crocs. I used to be a big fan of Birkenstocks with the Birko-Flor, but they are no longer made and are difficult to find. No matter, since as comfort goes, Crocs are superior in every way. Wearing them feels like you are walking on marshmallows. These are the only [...]

Catalogs I LOVE

I’m not a fan of receiving too many catalogs and other mail that I don’t want. However, I am a huge fan of receiving catalogs in the mail that I’m going to keep around a while and reference. Be sure to check out online catalogs before you have a paper one sent to you. If [...]
